Don?t be fooled by so-called ?Direct Lenders?, know the truth:

The truth is, so-called ?Direct Lenders? do NOT pass on any cost benefit to the borrower.  They do NOT provide wholesale rates to consumers.  By definition, direct lenders provide Retail rates to consumers. This is no different than what Licensed Mortgage Brokers do.

Obvious question: So if a Licensed Mortgage Broker originates my loan, don?t I have to pay for their services and won?t it end up costing me more to get my loan?  No!  Licensed Mortgage Brokers are offered true wholesale rates by large mortgage wholesalers.  We take those wholesale rates and add our fees and we almost always still offer lower rates and costs to the consumer than most so-called direct lenders. 

Here?s a simple example of how it works: Let?s say you own a flower shop and you buy 50 dozen roses at a time from a flower wholesaler.  If your neighbor wants to buy a dozen roses from the same wholesaler, will they get the same pricing as you?  Of course not, since you buy in bulk you?ll get a much better price than your neighbor.  The wholesaler will charge your neighbor their Retail price, just like so-called direct lenders will charge you their Retail price.

Another misconception is that so-called direct lenders lend their own money so they call the shots. In reality most direct lenders probably shouldn?t even be considered direct lenders at all, since many times before funding a loan they will make consumers wait until they receive loan approval from their Investors/Capital Partners, it's very similar to how Licensed Mortgage Brokers require approval from the funding lender.

Many so-called direct lenders have in-house processing, underwriting and funding which one would think would make the loan process more efficient.  The truth is, many so-called direct lenders are so disorganized that many times consumers get lost in the process and the level of customer service drops.  We?ve done many loans for borrowers who came to us after not getting return calls from such lenders as ?Green___ Financial?, Wells __rgo and others.  The truth is, Licensed Mortgage Brokers have access to funding lenders that are eager to fund our loans which allows customer service to remain a top priority.
